Founded in 2020 by NYIYOMUGABO (Jerome/Amuran Sulaman), Southern Fencing Club (SFC) represents a pivotal moment in Rwanda's sporting landscape. Driven by Amuran's deep passion for fencing—ignited in 2018—SFC was established to elevate the sport and introduce it to new audiences across the country.

From its early days, SFC has been dedicated to fostering the growth of fencing by integrating it into school sports programs and expanding through new branches. Our efforts have already led to significant achievements, including the successful invite of a Rwandan athlete for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and the organization of high-profile competitions and training camps. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our collaborations with international fencing organizations, which have brought valuable expertise and resources to Rwanda. Additionally, we have made strides in developing local talent by training a new generation of fencing coaches.
